This Mauser bayonet, manufactured by E. u. F. Hörster (Friedrich Emil und Fritz Hörster) in Solingen, is a standard-issue S84/98 III (third model) pattern, designed for the German Karabiner 98k (K98k) rifle during the Second World War. The blade bears the manufacturer’s mark "E.u.F. Hörster," and both the blade and the scabbard are numbered. It features Bakelite grip scales. Retains nearly 100% of its original blued finish. Dated "1939."
