Afghan Flintlock Rifle from the Second Anglo-Afghan War Period (1878–1880)
Afghan Flintlock Rifle from the Second Anglo-Afghan War Period (1878–1880)
This rifle was made from a copy of a late 19th-century English rifle during the Second Anglo-Afghan War, in a valley (Kyber Pass) where many types of weapons are still produced today.
During this war, the Afghans lacked weapons and were forced to manufacture copies of British firearms. The stock has been fully restored. There is a small crack on the front of the stock, which you can see in the last photo of the listing. The stock is made of mountain walnut.
(ATTENTION) The weapon is deactivated; the trigger mechanism will need replacing as it has been filed down. A replacement part will need to be found; see the photos. A magnificent weapon for collectors and history enthusiasts.
The rifle is 160 cm long, the barrel is 118 cm long, and the barrel housing is 106 cm long.
